Saturday, 8 October 2022
11:00 AM — 1:00 PM
Art Gallery Lane, Bowral NSW, Australia
Join me for a workshop designed to help writers of all abilities find ways to connect to moments of external inspiration.
About this event
Workshop description: Set in the beautiful grounds and spaces of Ngununggula, this poetry workshop is designed to help writers of all abilities find ways to connect moments of external inspiration with inner emotion. Writers will be led through ways to use metaphor and speech music to enrich their use of words and language, to shape well-wrought lines, or explore new possibilities in their compositions. Come and take inspiration from the works of Ken Done and Rosie Deacon, or find new meanings in the shapes of trees, the play of Spring light in the afternoon, or the ways we can say more while writing less.
About the artist: Peter Ramm is a poet and teacher who writes on the Gundungurra lands of the NSW Southern Highlands. His debut poetry collection Waterlines is out now with Vagabond Press. In 2022 he won the prestigious Manchester Poetry Prize. His poems have also won the Harri Jones Memorial Award, The South Coast Writers Centre Poetry Award, The Red Room Poetry Object, and have been shortlisted in the Bridport, ACU, Blake, Newcastle, Tom Collins, and KSP National Poetry Prizes. He has been published in Westerly, Cordite, Plumwood Mountain, The Rialto, Eureka Street, and more. Peter has been awarded writers residencies with the Westwords Daffodil Cottage and with the SCWC Wollongong Botanic Garden Writers in Residence Program.
