In the News

Updated: Jul 7, 2022

I'm eternally grateful, if not a little overwhelmed by the attention I've received after winning the Manchester Poetry Prize. Much of it is to blame on my colleagues at work and my lovely wife Ashley who reached out to news outlets to see if they'd be interested in the story OR to some friends who are journalists and who were kind enough to want to tell my story. Below are a few links to some of the articles that have appeared in our local and national papers.

Thank you all for your support. I hope in some way that my recent success (after many years of rejections, which continue) may give some people the inspiration to write, whether it be my students, rural writers, or other poets.

My thanks to everyone who has penned these articles for their time in interviewing me—often on hands free in the car, over zoom, or on one special occasion, in person, late on a Friday evening. Thank you to Brad Kelly, Michele Haines Thomas, Alice Stephens, Rosie Bensley, Sophie Bennett, Tony Sheffield and Blake Sharp-Wiggins, for their time. There are a couple others to share, but they haven't been published yet.
