It's taken me a little while to get these blogs up, due to the family health and holidays. I had the privilege a few weeks ago to read alongside some wonderful poets from the Southern Hemisphere. The Zoom reading featured poets from Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, and Japan. The list of readers is below:
Host Matthew Rice - Belfast, NI
Yong Shu Hoong - Singapore
Sarah-Kate Simons - New Zealand
Peter Ramm - Australia
Tse Hao Guang - Singapore
Kit Nagamura - Japan
Nga-Atawhainga Creagh - New Zealand
Ali Whitelock - Australia
Anita Arlov - New Zealand
Daryl Lim Wei Jie - Singapore
Thank you to Gordon Hewitt for including me in this line up, it was a wonderful evening in poetry and a privilege to not only share the space with the poets, but to hear them read some of their exceptional work. Thanks also to Matthew Rice for being a great host and MC for the event. You can listen to the readings below. I read at 19:00 minutes. I was holed up at in Ashley's Uncles office in Uralla, a couple of days after speaking at the Dorothea MacKellar Poetry Awards, in the middle of one of the worst head colds I'd ever had—so you might pick up the croak in my voice.
Thank you also to Ali Whitelock for introducing me to Gordon and International Page and Stage. What a thrill to think there are others across the globe who are interested in my writing and sharing our love of poetry.
